Angel Cake
It's not called Angel Food for no good reason
- 6 eggs separated
- 1-1/2 cups. sugar½ cup water
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Cook sugar and water to soft ball stage. Pour slowly into well beaten egg whites. Continue beating until mixture stands in peaks.
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colour. Add white mixtures.
Sift flour salt cream of tartar and fold into egg mixture. Add vanilla.
Bake in ungreased tube pan for 1 to 1 and a quarter hours at 250 degrees.
