Simmer, covered, raisins in water for 15 minutes. Drain and save ½ cup of the liquid. Cool.
Cream butter, blend in sugar, add eggs and vanilla, Add liquid and dry ingredients. Fold in raisins and nuts.
Bake in 8 inch pan for 45 minutes at 350
BUTTER CINNAMON ICING
Sift together 2 cups icing sugar, ½ tsp. cinnamon, and a few grains of salt.
Blend in ¼ cup butter and 2 tbls. hot cream.
Add ½ tsp. vanilla.
