The Whitehorse Photo Club is proud to show off another selection of images from around the city and the territory. Walter Gutowski — Smashing the Gate Yukoner Mackenzie Jenner smashing a slalom gate at the recent Mount Sima Aurora Cup FIS race. Ray Marnoch — Mutual Curiosity After the last cruise ships departed from Skagway, I enjoyed a quiet drive down the South Klondike Highway, stopping to take in the amazing views of the coastal mountains in their fall splendour. Several large groups of wild mountain goats grazed in the warm sun on the slopes above the waters of Windy Arm. As luck had it, a healthy billy goat appeared close by and interrupted his munching to stare at me. I was transfixed when our eyes met. Carol Foster — S.S. Klondike on the Yukon River (circa 1953–1955) This is a photo from a slide that my Dad took, between 1953 and 1955, of the SS Klondike on the Yukon River. Steve Wilson — On Golden Pond “The Fall colours were at their peak on September 25, 2023, when Kim and I took a drive on the Carcross-Tagish Loop. This pond was near the Tagish Road, between Tagish and Jake’s Corner.” Sunny Lewis — Hot Water Mist Taken in my yard on a very cold day. John Reeve — Ballet On Ice I was surprised when the swans landed on this small pothole lake in Mount Lorne, after it had frozen over. They rested for the better part of an hour before departing. Jerry Gallant — Frosty Yukon Day Frosty Yukon Day was taken at the Rotary Centennial Bridge last December during the cold weather, just before Christmas. Carol Foster — Swallow Leaving Home The swallow was leaving its nest at about 900 miles per hour. Taken in Stewart Crossing.
