The Circle: Caribou & BBYN Crew

Every month, The Circle brings Beyond Borders Youth Network members together to connect, share space, and build community. For May’s edition, we’re trading our usual four walls for open skies, wide trails, and a wildlife experience you genuinely won’t find anywhere else in Whitehorse.
We’re heading to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve for an exclusive guided Caribou Walk, a rare behind-the-scenes experience inside the caribou habitat that isn’t open to the general public. You’ll walk up to the Learning Centre, do a quick safety briefing and shoe sanitization, and then step into a landscape that stops you in your tracks. Sweeping views, wide open habitat, and yes, caribou.
After the walk, grab your wildlife bingo card and explore the preserve at your own pace. Each challenge you complete is an entry into a draw for a locally curated gift bag. Challenges are built to help you meet other BBYN members, capture content worth sharing, and take in everything the preserve has to offer, no schedule, no check-in, just you and the wild.
No internet on the grounds, so bingo submissions are done online after the event.
Need a ride? Just let us know and we’ll help you get there. This event is created for immigrant and refugee youth ages 18–30, but everyone is welcome.
