41lb. Lake Trout out of Tagish Lake
41lb. Lake Trout out of Tagish Lake

This 43” lake trout, which weighed in at a husky 41 pounds, was caught in Tagish Lake on Saturday, July 19 by Mike Gustus, who writes:

“A good ole (Len Thompson) Five of Diamonds barbless hook caught this hog at 94’, deep trolling with my long-time fishin’ friend Brian. I always use a 20lb test, keeping the tension just right for a decent drag. The 41lb laker was successfully released, bringing it up slowly, thus allowing it to blow bubbles and empty its air bladder. If such a fish is not played out to exhaustion, but allowed to swim up on its own … with a little coaxing and given time to revive … it will swim away to be seen again.”
