Egg rolls may seem like a lot of work, but you’ll be impressed with what a big difference making your own can make in the final product. Feel free to add some meat to the mix, if you’d like, but these simple cabbage and ginger egg rolls are so simple and tasty that you won’t miss it.

Cabbage And Ginger Egg Rolls
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 4 cups thinly sliced cabbage
- 1 large carrot grated
- 1 Tbsp grated ginger
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 package egg roll wrapper
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 –2 cups vegetable or canola oil for frying
- Plum sauce to serve
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, mix together cabbage, carrot, ginger, soy sauce and sesame oil, until evenly combined. Place 1 heaping tablespoon of the filling in the center of a wrapper, brush the edges of the wrapper with an egg, then bring the corners to the center and roll the wrapper around the filling. Once rolled, pinch each end to seal. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
- 2. Heat oil in a pot over medium-high heat. When oil reaches 350 F, fry the egg rolls until golden brown. Work in batches, so as not to overcrowd the pan. Repeat with remaining egg rolls and serve with plum sauce.
