Candied bacon with black pepper
Candied bacon makes a great addition to a cheese plate or salad. It can also serve as a snack on its own, either during a picnic or on a hike. If you’re not a black pepper fan, just omit it. Alternatively, try adding some fresh thyme, or even chili powder.
Ingredients
- 1 pound sliced thick cut bacon
- ½ cup brown sugar
- Cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Set oven at 400 F. Place bacon on a rack on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with half the brown sugar, then sprinkle with black pepper. Place in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and carefully flip. Sprinkle with remaining brown sugar and black pepper and cook for another 10 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and sugar is caramelized.
