each layer distinct in its reaction
to the waves of cold, warmth,
ice fog and clear skies
that have teased us this winter,
each layer finding its unique
coefficient of friction, allowing it to
slip over ….
…. and under
the layers around it,
suspended at the tipping point
in response to sunlight,
wind, the call of the earth
and the waning of winter
