APTN’s New Programming

Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is pleased to announce its new fall line-up, including some brand-new shows as well as new seasons of old favourites.

Beginning on Tuesday, September 6, APTN will premiere two new shows called Untamed Gourmet and Working It Out Together.

Untamed Gourmet explores the connection between food and the land. Each episode takes us to a new region to follow a different chef and local guide skilled at seeking fresh regional ingredients. It will be broadcast every Tuesday at 7:30 pm ET/MT.

After Untamed Gourmet on Tuesday evenings will be the six-part series Working It Out Together that follows former Olympian Waneek Horn-Miller’s journey to help Aboriginal people turn their lives around.

The participants are dealing with nearly every issue related to wellness, from obesity, eating disorders, low self-esteem, emotional trauma, busy schedules, depression, poor nutrition, substance abuse and lack of motivation.

The following day, Wednesday, September 7, APTN will premiere new seasons of fan favourite shows, Cashing In (season three) and Fish Out Of Water (season five).

Fish Out Of Water’s Don Kelly goes on a demanding new adventure every week to a traditional native land. Through a series of misadventures, Don pushes his limited limits to re-connect with his Aboriginal roots and spiritual values. Fish Out Of Water is broadcast every Wednesday at 8 pm ET/MT and APTN HD.

Cashing In picks up where season two left off with more drama, scheming and lies the third time around. Cashing In is a drama set on the fictional Stonewalker First Nations, nestled comfortably beside an affluent beach community in Southern Manitoba.

You can catch up with seasons 1 & 2 on APTN’s full online episodes at www.aptn.ca/fullepisodes. You can watch all the drama and excitement after Fish Out Of Water at 8:30 pm ET/MT and APTN HD.

The Mix is also in its fifth season on APTN. It is a hosted half-hour that celebrates the life and vibrancy of First Nations, Inuit and Metis music and dance.

Every week host Greg Coyes explores musical kinship throughout Native Canada at festivals from coast to coast to coast. The Mix premieres Thursday, September 8 at 10 pm ET/MT/CT and on APTN HD.

Back with the biggest news stories of the day put into perspective, APTN’s InFocus premieres Friday, September 9. Join host Cheryl McKenzie as she brings a topic or news story “in focus”, providing in-depth analysis to show the story behind the story.

Watch APTN InFocus every Friday at 6:30 pm ET/MT/CT and APTN HD.
