Acrylic Painting with a Limited Palette
Jul 10 @ 5:00 PM

Discover how a small selection of colours can create rich, vibrant paintings. This workshop introduces the basics of colour theory while exploring the power of working with a limited palette in acrylic painting. Participants will explore colour blending, how warm and cool colour relationships influence depth and mood and how limiting colour choices can create harmony and cohesion in a landscape painting. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, artists will experiment with mixing, value shifts, and colour balance to better understand how colours interact. Ideal for a range of experience, this workshop helps artists build confidence in colour mixing while developing an intentional approach to using colour in their work.
Saskatoon-based visual artist and arts educator Erin Haight brings a deep connection to place throughout her work and teaching. Her artwork explores the Canadian landscape — particularly the vast and varied skies, forests, and waters of Saskatchewan. Through layered acrylic techniques, thoughtful blending, and a careful study of colour and light, she captures both the dramatic and the serene qualities that shape our land. Her paintings are less about documenting a scene and more about conveying the feeling of a place — the quiet stillness before a storm, the warmth of evening light, or the emotional weight of an open horizon.
