Pet Photos with Santa

It is that time of year again, decorations are out and Christmas is getting closer every day. This also means that it is once again time for the Yukon Humane Society’s annual Christmas fund raiser: Pet pictures with Santa Claus.

This event will once again be held at The Feed Store on Quartz Road on Saturday Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information call the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter or The Feed Store.

All proceeds go to support the animal shelter and its efforts to help the homeless animals of the Yukon.

Prices for the photos vary depending on quantity and size of picture wanted. This is a wonderful keepsake to have and well worth the trip.

All animals are welcome. I was told that one year they even had a pet chicken brought in to sit with Santa.

Please be warned that there will be a large number of people and other animals inside the store at this time. So be sure that you have good control of your animals and keep a look out for any potential problems.

Walking around a display and running into a strange dog unexpectedly can lead to altercations. It can be very stressful, especially for shy pets, so keep a close eye on your surroundings to avoid any problems.

The volunteers are a wonderful bunch of people, who keep track of who came first in order to keep things running as smoothly as possible. If you have a dog or a cat that does not do well waiting around in a crowded area, they are usually more than willing to let you know when your turn is so that you can leave your pet in the car and then get in and out as quickly as possible.

So if you have a little time on Saturday, come on out and support the Yukon Humane Society. I hope to see you there.
