For a lot of people, dancing and drinking go hand in hand. With a buzz, you can actually dance without worrying about what other people think. If you do something foolish you can always blame it on the booze, right?

The Whitehorse – Just Dance monthly events are put on by Steve Potter as an outlet for his joint passions of dancing, DJaying and community. Hailing from the United Kingdom, he spent most of the ’90s running record labels, promoting events and producing music in Birmingham, England. Now a family man, he doesn’t have the time to go out all night – but isn’t ready to hang up his dancing shoes just yet. He brings this deep love and knowledge of all kinds of music (house/reggae/’80s/disco/hip-hop) to Just Dance. An acupuncturist by day, he also aims to combine the dance night with his interest in meditation and bodywork to create an event that is fun, meditative and healing.

The next dance is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. These also take place at the Association Franco-Yukonnaise at 302 Strickland St. The entrance fee is $10.

See you on the dance floor!
